SADC Disaster Risk Management Institutional setup
SADC Structures for Disaster Risk Management (DRM) include the Disaster Risk Management Unit and the Climate Services Centre (formerly Drought Monitoring Centre), with the objective of reducing the negative impacts of adverse weather and climate conditions such as drought, floods, and other extreme events on sustainable socio-economic development. The Climate Services Centre aims to achieve this through generation and dissemination of meteorological, environmental, and hydro-meteorological products. It also provides information to the media.
