The goal of this plan is to have an effective, efficient and well-coordinated health sector all hazards response system that will lead to reduction of mortality, morbidity, and disability.

The Zanzibar Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act 2015 establishes the legal framework for disaster risk reduction and management in Zanzibar in the United Republic of Tanzania, outlining the institutional arrangements, authorities and functions, and financial provisions for disaster management.

The ACRP will serve as a roadmap for mainstreaming climate change within current agricultural policies, plans, and practices, as well as identifying gaps were new investments may be needed. It will be the guiding framework for a more comprehensive and consistent approach for confronting one of the major risks to current crop productivity and future investments.

This Strategy has been developed in response to the growing concern of the negative impacts of climate change and climate variability on the country’s social, economic and physical environment. Its overall aim is to enhance the technical, institutional and individual capacity of the country to address the impacts of climate change.

The Zanzibar Disaster Management Policy of 2011 provides a situational analysis of the natural hazard risks faced by Zanzibar in the United Republic of Tanzania. It documents the linkages between disaster management and development policies in Zanzibar, and futher outlines Zanzibar's disaster management policy and institutional and implementation arrangements.

The purpose of the Zanzibar Disaster Communication Strategy (ZDCS) is to ensure the operability, interoperability and continuity of communications to allow emergency responders to communicate as needed, on demand, and as authorized at all levels of the government. The ZDCS is specifically designed to support the Zanzibar Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (ZEPRP).
