The objective of this assignment is to facilitate Disaster Risk Reduction mainstreaming in development plans and strategies at the SADC Secretariat in support of SADC’s regional DRR policy and provide capacity enhancement interventions to benefit SADC Member States, civil society organisations and the private sector to better contribute in the implementation of DRR activities in the Southern Africa region through the following deliverables:
- Draft SADC DRR mainstreaming guideline as a draft paper for stakeholder review covering conceptual aspects of the subject matter, policy and practice review, capacity analysis, case studies and key recommendations and conclusions related to DRR mainstreaming.
- SADC DRR Mainstreaming guideline as a consolidated publication covering conceptual aspects of the subject matter, policy and practice review, capacity analysis, case studies and key recommendations and conclusions related to DRR mainstreaming.
- Five Sectoral Guidelines to providing guidance for DRR mainstreaming and resilience building in the region.
