This Policy presents an overview of climate change from Namibia perspective, vulnerability of Namibia to climate change per sector, predictions for Namibia.

Recovery efforts defined within the NDRF are guided by a central vision and goal. Following the 2015 floods, an initial vision and goal were determined; these have been updated in response to the 2015/16 drought.

An Act to provide for the comprehensive management of existing and future disaster risks, for the institutional framework and funding arrangements for the management of disaster risk and other matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

This Lean Season Food Insecurity Response Plan (LS-FIRP), developed by the Government of Malawi in collaboration with its humanitarian partners leveraging the architecture of the humanitarian cluster system, identifies Food Security, Nutrition, Protection, Education and Transport and Logistics clusters as the key priority clusters to address immediate needs.

Aware of the development challenges represented by risks and disasters, Madagascar finalized its first National Strategy for Risk and Disaster Management (SNGRC) in 2003. By being annexed to the national policy on risk and disaster management which was adopted during of the same year, this strategic document is an integral part of the said policy.

This Appeal document has been prepared by the Government of Lesotho for presentation to its Development Partners, local business organizations, and citizens of good will to assist in addressing and redressing the current situation.

The policy provides strategic directions and coordination on issues of climate change, cognizant of its linkages with sustainable development. It identifies major vulnerable areas and risks presented by climate change.

The overall objective of the Drought Contingency Plan is to mount timely, consistent, effective and coordinated response to:

• a) save lives,
• b) save property and
• c) save environment.

The following Business Continuity Plan (BCP) lists the tasks that should be carried out as soon as an incident, or potential incident, is discovered and/or an emergency that affects the wellbeing of the people of Lesotho.

The purpose of national disaster risk reduction policy is to provide a framework for effective planning and implementation of disaster risk reduction in Lesotho. More than 90 percent of disasters in Lesotho are related to climatic changes.
