The broad objective of the plan is to help make Malawi resilient to disasters and break the cycle of food insecurity.
To achieve this, the following specific objectives will be pursued:
- i. To promote irrigation for food security, nutrition and export drive;
- ii. To promote catchment protection and management;
- iii. To reduce effects of floods and occurrence of drought;
- iv. To enhance effective early warning systems; and v. To ensure proper coordination and linkages of social support programmes.
