National Strategy and Action Plan 2017-2023 for Reducing natural risks and disasters in DR. Congo

This Strategy is divided into nine priority axes which are:

1. the official recognition of DRR;
2. the implementation of institutional mechanisms and the strengthening of governance for DRR at national levels;
3. the implementation of operational mechanisms for funding DRR;
4. Performing analysis and assessment of disaster risks and vulnerabilities;
5. Strengthening disaster preparedness and effectiveness of activities at national levels;
6. Strengthening the capacities of public services to improve forecasting;
7. Establishing the link between humanitarian assistance, sustainable development and the environment sector by Strengthening disaster resilience;
8. Implementing special programs for awareness raising and
9. the establishment of regional and international cooperation in DRR.

The DRC will therefore have to mobilize resources in order to achieve sustainable and resilient development in the face of disaster risks.
